Biography

Carrie Buck grew up on a small farm, working soybean fields and selling sweet corn door to door.1 She and her husband, Eric, a retired deputy police chief, have four sons and have both operated small businesses, while much of her own career has been spent in classrooms and school leadership.1

Buck began teaching fifth grade in North Las Vegas and went on to work as a principal, English language learning specialist and instructional coach.12 Her education includes degrees from Montana State, the University of Phoenix and Nova Southeastern, and her school work has included leadership at Pinecrest Academy and its supporting foundation.2

She won election to Nevada's Senate in 2020 and represents District 5.2 Her campaign argues for stronger parental authority in education, more resources for police, tighter border security and protecting tips from taxation, alongside greater accountability for federal spending.1

Buck is the Republican challenger to Democratic incumbent Dina Titus in the First District, with Steven St John and Bobby Khan also running without a party designation.2 She presents her classroom and business experience as the basis for a change in representation, emphasizing family budgets, public safety and working with President Donald Trump.1

School campaign complaint

Nevada Current reported in October 2026 that a parent complained to the state charter school authority about Buck's August visit to Pinecrest Academy, where a national Republican campaign crew filmed material later used in an advertisement.3 School treasurer Coby Sherlock denied that the visit was campaigning and said visits included both parties and an opt out; the corrected report reproduced notice sent the previous evening.3 Buck's campaign had not answered the newspaper by its October 12 report.3 This review did not verify an agency or IRS determination that Buck or the school violated the law.
