Cody Whipple

Whipple grew up trailing cattle on horseback at his family's Hiko ranch.

Biography

Cody Whipple grew up moving cattle on horseback at his family's ranch in Hiko. His father died when he was three, leaving his mother to raise five children.1 Football took him to Virginia Tech on a scholarship, where he met his wife, Dana, and earned an animal science degree.2

The couple returned to Nevada and raised three daughters while he built a communications business and continued ranching.1 He founded Rebel Communications in 2005, supplying radio equipment and services used by emergency responders, school districts and other employers.2

Whipple has coached young athletes and worked with wildlife organizations. He supports school choice, technical education, youth sports and firearm safety programs, linking those interests to his experience as a parent, rancher and outdoorsman.1

His campaign emphasizes reducing living costs, helping small businesses, improving public safety and giving parents more control over education. He also supports Second Amendment protections.1 He favors transferring federal land to counties and exploring nuclear recycling at Yucca Mountain.2 The Republican challenges Democratic incumbent Steven Horsford, a former job training leader and Nevada senator. The district includes both North Las Vegas neighborhoods and rural communities such as Whipple's hometown, making urban and rural economic needs part of the contest.2
