Crane and his wife, Jen, started making bottle openers from shell casings in their garage.
Biography
Eli Crane and his wife, Jen, began their manufacturing business in their garage, turning shell casings into bottle openers.1 They founded the company in 2012, expanded it into a business employing dozens and negotiated a deal on national television before selling it in 2022.1
Crane grew up in Arizona and was in his senior year at the University of Arizona when the September 11 attacks occurred.1 He left college to enlist in the Navy a week later and served for 13 years, completing five wartime deployments, including three with SEAL Team 3.1
He entered Congress in 2023 and now serves on the Homeland Security and Oversight committees.23 His assignments include border enforcement, transportation security and government technology oversight, and he belongs to the House Freedom Caucus and Western Caucus.3
Crane supports stronger border enforcement, removal of people unlawfully in the country and additional resources for border barriers, agents and surveillance.4 He introduced a proposal to pause new H-1B visas for three years before restarting the program with revised rules.5 He faces Democrat Jonathan Nez in a rematch for a largely rural northern Arizona district that both parties are contesting more heavily this year.26
