Eric Yonce

Eric Yonce completed a walk of more than 2,000 miles along the Appalachian Trail in 2022, then started a business renovating vintage Airstream trailers.¹ The Ormond Beach resident grew up in Marion County, where his father served as an Ocala police officer and his mother led the local Realtor association.²

Yonce graduated from North Marion High School and worked for the Ocala Police Department before earning a business degree.¹ He spent more than twenty years in retail management, then moved into real estate and his trailer renovation business.³

He won the August 2026 Democratic primary, emerging from a field that also included a paramedic, a brewery owner and a Marine veteran.¹ Josh Weil, the Democratic nominee in the district's 2025 special election, endorsed Yonce's bid.¹ He is now challenging Republican Congressman Randy Fine for Florida's 6th District, which stretches across several Northeast and Central Florida counties.²

Yonce's stated priorities include protecting coastlines from harmful development and expanding affordable and workforce housing.² He supports protections for renters and homeowners and an immigration system combining security with respect for human dignity.² His campaign presents his experience in local policing, retail and small business as the professional background he would bring to Congress.³
