Kellie Keenan

Kellie Keenan grew up in Boston in the house where her mother had grown up, sharing family life with her sisters and grandparents.¹ She met her husband, Adrian, next door to that family home; they now raise three daughters in Providence.¹ During high school, she worked at Sullivan's Castle Island.¹

She attended Boston Latin School and later completed a specialized program for public health leaders at Suffolk University.¹ Her public service also included AmeriCorps NCCC, working on community projects around the country.¹ She began her healthcare career at a community health center's front desk.¹

That work developed into a career in public health operations, including clinical research and leadership responsibilities across medical, behavioral health and dental services.¹ She describes leaving the Democratic Party after concluding its policies no longer reflected the values she associated with her grandfather, a Navy veteran.¹

Keenan proposes faster infrastructure and housing permitting, stronger community health centers and a larger healthcare workforce.² She supports an energy strategy including nuclear power, natural gas and emerging technologies, alongside more starter homes and small multifamily housing.² She faces Democratic incumbent Gabe Amo and independent Pedro Soares de Souza in November.²
