Lily Tang Williams

Lily Tang Williams grew up in Sichuan during China's Cultural Revolution, with parents who could not read and a childhood she describes as marked by food rationing.¹ She met her future husband soon after coming to the United States, and they have three adult children.¹

She studied law in China and credits an American student with introducing her to the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence.¹ She taught law at Fudan University in Shanghai before coming to America in 1988 for graduate study.¹ Her later work has included managing rental properties with her husband.¹

Her biography also lists public speaking and work as an expert witness in cases involving China.¹ She helped establish the New Hampshire Asian American Coalition and has written opinion essays about communism and individual liberty.¹ She previously sought this House seat in 2022 and 2024.²

Tang Williams supports congressional term limits, a stock trading ban for members and a constitutional balanced budget requirement.³ Her term limit pledge would cap House service at three terms and Senate service at two.³ Her affordability plan advocates expanded nuclear power, natural gas production and pipelines, along with reduced federal spending and regulation.⁴ She also favors eliminating the federal Education Department and a national constitutional carry law.³ She faces Democratic incumbent Maggie Goodlander in a rematch.⁵
