Robert Burke

Burke grew up in a Milton house his family occupied for 129 years.

Biography

Rob Burke grew up in Milton in a house his campaign says remained in his family for 129 years, until 2023.1 His father worked as a federal probation officer, and Burke graduated from Milton High School in 1974.1

His working life included telecommunications jobs in Boston, Long Island and California, followed by starting All American Cleaning in Annapolis.1 He returned to Boston in 1985 and now lives in Dedham.1 After retiring following an injury, he took up videography, filming high school, preparatory school and college sports.1

Burke also entered the gig economy in 2015, delivering packages around Boston.1 His campaign describes encounters on those routes as part of his growing interest in the difficulties residents faced.1 He ran for the 8th District seat in 2022 and 2024 and is seeking it again this year as Republican nominee.23

He supports increased deportations, border restrictions, tariffs intended to bring back manufacturing jobs and cuts to federal spending.1 His proposed Boxer Works and Boston Forge initiatives would develop manufacturing and training facilities in Brockton, including a three year program supporting young entrepreneurs through technical work, business operations and company launches.4 He pledges to serve one term.1 Democratic incumbent Stephen Lynch is his November opponent.3

COVID origin claim

Burke's campaign biography calls COVID a Chinese Communist Party bioweapon.1 A 2023 ODNI assessment reported that intelligence agencies differed on the pandemic's origins but all assessed that the virus was not developed as a biological weapon.5
