Peters grew up with a Lutheran minister father who worked on housing desegregation and a mother who worked as a secretary.
Biography
He later became an environmental attorney in San Diego before entering local politics. He and his wife, Lynn, raised a daughter and son and recently became grandparents. He has served in Congress since 2013.
