Spencer Meline

Spencer Meline is a father of four who spends time hiking, climbing and fishing Washington's mountain lakes. He describes faith and family as the foundations of his life and his decision to run for Congress.¹ He grew up in Edmonds and now lives in Cashmere. He and his wife homeschool their children.²

His working experience comes from building small businesses, managing payroll, navigating regulations and leading employees through periods of growth and uncertainty. He says that work taught him how government decisions affect employers, workers and household budgets.¹ He is campaigning on opportunities for families to build stable lives and for the next generation to find meaningful work.¹

Meline supports parents having a substantial role in their children's education and recognizes several routes to success, with responsibility and practical skills central to his approach. His outdoor interests also inform his support for stewardship of the district's public lands.¹

His published priorities include housing costs, American jobs, forest health, wildfire preparedness, patient care and the effects of new technology.¹ The Republican is seeking Washington's Eighth District seat against Democratic incumbent Kim Schrier.² Schrier brings a pediatrician's background and a congressional record focused heavily on insurance access and prescription costs to the contest.³
