Tony Sabio

Tony Sabio and his wife, Abigail, are raising five children, including a teenager they first welcomed through Virginia's foster care system and later adopted.¹ Born in San Juan to a Puerto Rican mother and Filipino father, he grew up in San Diego and has lived in Virginia since 2002.¹

Sabio served in the Navy and later worked for the Secret Service and CIA.² His civilian career includes managing private sector operations, and he now works as a security consultant in Northern Virginia.³⁴

He describes himself as a conservative in Ronald Reagan's tradition, emphasizing unity and an agenda of national security, small business growth and workforce opportunity.³ His Promise for America proposals include expanding private sector employment and advanced nuclear energy to reduce the region's dependence on federal jobs.⁴

Sabio favors stronger border enforcement alongside renewable legal work status for qualifying immigrants, rather than a new citizenship pathway.⁴ He also proposes incentives for starter homes and targeted assistance for buyers such as teachers, police officers and medical workers.⁴ Sabio faces Democratic incumbent Don Beyer, Libertarian Shelly Arnoldi and independent Tim Sharman in November.⁵
