Warren Davidson
Davidson enlisted in the Army after high school in Sidney, then went to West Point and served as an Army Ranger.
Biography
After high school in Sidney, Warren Davidson enlisted in the Army and later earned an appointment to West Point.12 His studies there included American history and mechanical engineering.3 As an infantry officer, he served in The Old Guard, the 75th Ranger Regiment and the 101st Airborne Division.1
After leaving the Army, he earned an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.1 He then spent fifteen years starting, acquiring and developing manufacturing companies in Ohio.1 He and his wife, Lisa, have two adult children.1
His earlier public service included a stint as a Concord Township trustee.2 He entered Congress in a 2016 special election to fill the seat vacated by John Boehner.2 Davidson now chairs the Financial Services subcommittee on national security and illicit finance and also serves on the Foreign Affairs Committee.1
His fiscal agenda calls for cutting federal spending and a constitutional amendment requiring a balanced budget.4 He argues that borrowing and Federal Reserve financing threaten the dollar's value and leave future generations with today's bills.4 His 2026 CHARGE Act proposal would direct the National Institutes of Health to study transmission lines of at least 750 kilovolts and their effects on people, livestock and crop yields.5 He faces Democrat Vanessa Enoch in November.6
Record and controversies
Stock disclosure complaint
In September 2021, Campaign Legal Center asked the Office of Congressional Ethics to investigate whether Davidson had promptly reported two 2020 Workhorse stock trades.7 His office said the form had been filed and blamed missing public access on a House Clerk website error, while maintaining compliance.8 The available report is signed March 25, 2021, and lists both trades.9
The complaint is a request for review, not an agency finding.7 A later public agency disposition was not verified as of October 29, 2026.
