Biography

Aaron Flint grew up traveling between his parents' homes in Glasgow and the Flathead, sometimes by Amtrak, and earned money stuffing newspapers and clearing restaurant tables.1 He met his wife, Jessica, at the University of Montana, and they have three children, Matthew, Jaxson and Brooklyn.1 His grandparents' newspaper business provided an early introduction to the local news work that later became his civilian career.2

After September 11, Flint joined the military and went on to serve more than 20 years in the Army National Guard and Reserve, retiring as a lieutenant colonel with two Bronze Stars.1 His deployments included Iraq, Afghanistan, the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula.2

Away from military service, he worked in television, hosted a statewide conservative radio program, and held political jobs with Senator Conrad Burns, Greg Gianforte's campaign and Congressman Ryan Zinke.2 He stepped away from his radio show when he became a congressional candidate in March 2026, and this is his first campaign for elected office.3

Flint proposes expanding timber harvests and mineral development, reducing regulation and taxes, strengthening immigration enforcement and barring Wall Street purchases of individual homes.4 He also supports legislation restricting large federal land sales and a ban on congressional stock trading.4 He faces Democrat Sam Forstag for Zinke's open seat, a contest between two candidates whose professional lives were built outside elected office.3
