Biography

Brad Little grew up on his family's sheep and cattle ranch in Emmett and has worked in ranching throughout his professional life.1 He married Teresa Soulen of Weiser in 1978; they have two sons, Adam and David, and six grandchildren.1

Little earned an agribusiness degree from the University of Idaho and also developed experience in banking and manufacturing.1 His work beyond the ranch included leadership in agricultural organizations dealing with grazing, timber and public lands, along with involvement in business, education and philanthropy organizations.1

Appointed to a vacant state Senate seat in 2001, Little subsequently won four consecutive Senate terms and became majority caucus chair before becoming lieutenant governor in 2009.1 He became governor in 2019 and won reelection in 2022.1 In 2025, he signed the law creating Idaho's private education tax credit, which the state Supreme Court upheld in 2026.234

His agenda emphasizes reducing regulation, preserving tax relief and supporting workforce training through Idaho LAUNCH.5 He describes LAUNCH as a way to prepare young Idahoans for jobs in healthcare, teaching and the mechanical trades.5 He seeks a third term against Democrat Terri Pickens and other candidates, including independent John Stegner, with education funding, housing affordability and state budget choices among the questions facing voters.6
