Biography

Brandon Gill grew up on a West Texas cattle ranch after being born on an Air Force base.1 He and his wife, Danielle D'Souza Gill, a writer, are raising two children in Flower Mound.1 His congressional biography places his birthplace in Clovis, New Mexico, and records his graduation from Eula High School in Clyde in 2012.2

Gill earned a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College in 2016.2 He studied economics and history, graduated with honors, led the conservative Dartmouth Review and served in a leadership role with Christian Union, a student ministry.1

After college, his career took him into investment banking and work as a hedge fund analyst.1 He later left finance to launch the DC Enquirer, a conservative media outlet, before seeking a congressional seat in North Texas.1 Elected in 2024, he entered the House in January 2025.2

His assignments include the Judiciary, Budget and Oversight committees and the government efficiency subcommittee.1 He describes tighter border security, opposition to abortion and reducing government waste as priorities, alongside improving the economy.13 His 2025 REMAIN in Mexico Act proposal would require the Department of Homeland Security to continue the Migrant Protection Protocols, the policy known as Remain in Mexico.4 His reelection opponents are Democrat Steven Shook and Libertarian Phil Gray.5

Record and controversies

Delayed Bitcoin disclosures

Gill's May 30, 2025 report disclosed Bitcoin purchases on January 29 and February 27, each valued between $100,001 and $250,000.6 Both exceeded the 45 day disclosure deadline; Chron's June 4 report said his office had not responded by publication.7 This review had not verified a subsequent fine or final House Ethics finding as of October 29, 2026.

Call to deport a congressional colleague

In February 2025, Gill called for Representative Ilhan Omar to be deported to Somalia and circulated a fundraising petition supporting that demand, although she became an American citizen in 2000.8 He objected to her advice to immigrants about dealing with ICE; Omar rejected the demand, questioning how a fellow member of Congress could think she could be deported.9
