Biography

Charles Hoelter spent more than twenty five years at UPS before retiring as a supervisor.1 In his 2026 candidate survey, he describes himself as a father of three who has been married for thirty one years.1 His Bay Area roots span twenty seven years in San Francisco followed by thirty six in San Mateo County.1

He graduated from Lincoln High School and earned his bachelor's degree at San Francisco State in 1989.1 Education remains among his stated interests: he wants high schools across the country to offer apprenticeship programs.1 His campaign has received the San Mateo County Republican Party's endorsement.1

Hoelter supports lower taxes and government spending, stronger border security, and protections for speech, religious liberty and gun ownership.2 His campaign also calls for more domestic energy production, better veterans' healthcare and support for law enforcement.3 On schools, he favors parental involvement and greater transparency about what children are taught.2

His candidate survey backs congressional term limits, voter identification requirements and restrictions on eligibility for women's sports.1 Hoelter advanced from the June primary and faces Democratic incumbent Kevin Mullin on November 3, seeking to replace the district's current representative.4
