Biography
Chris Harden worked a forklift and loaded trucks while going to school at night, a chapter of his life his campaign places at the center of his story.1 He grew up in a trailer park in Rossville, Georgia, and credits his parents and public schools with helping him build a different future.2
Today, Harden is a husband, father of triplets and attorney whose practice focuses on defending parents in family cases.1 For more than fourteen years, he has worked with parents, children, case managers and service providers dealing with difficult family circumstances.1
Based in Woodstock, he has worked in juvenile courts across North Georgia, describing his purpose as helping families stay together.3 His campaign connects that work to proposals for affordable healthcare, stronger public infrastructure, and education and job training that people can pursue without unmanageable debt.4
The Democrat faces Republican neurosurgeon John Cowan in the race to succeed retiring Representative Barry Loudermilk in Georgia's 11th District.3 Harden proposes restoring and expanding Affordable Care Act premium assistance, protecting reproductive healthcare, raising the minimum wage and restricting congressional stock trading.4 He also calls for data centers to protect water resources and cover their infrastructure costs, and has pledged to reject corporate PAC contributions.2
