Chris Reichard

Reichard grew up in High Ridge and joined the Army at 18.

Biography

Chris Reichard followed his father into IBEW Local 1, the electrical workers' union where his father spent forty years before retiring.1 Reichard has belonged to the union for a decade and works in the electrical and communications trades.1 He lives in Arnold.1

Born in rural Tennessee and raised in High Ridge, Missouri, he enlisted in the Army at eighteen.2 Six months later, he was in Iraq providing communications support.2 His Army service ran from 2004 to 2012 and included three deployments.2 His training included Army Signal Corps communications systems and a leadership course.2

After the military, Reichard continued working in communications construction, including a job with a nonunion company in Houston.2 He later returned to Missouri and joined Local 1 as an electrician and communications technician.2 His trade education includes a communications journeyman program at the St. Louis Electrical Industry Training Center.2

Reichard supports the PRO Act to strengthen workers' organizing rights and the Major Richard Star Act addressing benefits for combat injured veterans.1 His platform calls for expanding Medicare coverage, funding rural hospitals and schools, and ending private education vouchers.3 He favors requiring advance estimates of war's human and financial costs.1 He also advocates abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement and banning congressional stock trading.3 His November opponents are Republican Jason Smith and Libertarian Rebecca Sharpe Lombard.4
