Christy Peterson

Christy Peterson grew up in the Lakewood and Littleton area and graduated from Chatfield Senior High School before earning a bachelor's degree at San Diego State University in 2006.¹ She works in construction office management and accounting, and describes an interest in improvement projects, functional design and making work processes run more smoothly.¹

Peterson has also described ongoing studies in natural and functional medicine, rather than an already completed medical qualification.¹ Her political involvement developed around objections to government requirements and an embrace of conservative principles, including limited government, individual rights and lower taxes, according to her own account of entering the race.¹

Her stated priorities include reducing crime, reviewing federal programs for waste and creating incentives for businesses to establish and expand operations.¹ She supports President Donald Trump, continued ICE enforcement and legal immigration, and has criticized Denver's immigration policies while arguing that smaller government and free markets would improve affordability.²

Peterson also supports the SAVE Act and stronger voter identification requirements, identifying election procedures as part of her campaign agenda.³ She is the Republican candidate against Democrat Melat Kiros in the Denver based First District, where independent physician Shimon Blau is also running.²
