David Joyce

Dave Joyce and his wife, Kelly, both graduated from West Geauga High School.¹ They live in Bainbridge Township and have three children.¹ Kelly is a nurse, and Joyce's congressional work has included advocating for nursing education and workforce development.¹

Born in Cleveland, Joyce earned his undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Dayton.² His legal career began on the defense side: he worked as a public defender in Cuyahoga County and then Geauga County.² He became Geauga County prosecutor in 1988 and remained in that position until 2012.²

Joyce entered Congress in 2013 after winning election to succeed Steve LaTourette.²¹ He serves on the Appropriations Committee and chairs its Financial Services and General Government subcommittee, which handles funding for agencies involved in financial regulation, tax administration and other federal operations.¹

His policy work includes support for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and federal resources for addiction treatment and recovery.¹ He also helped establish a bipartisan congressional task force addressing sexual violence.¹ Joyce emphasizes spending oversight and cooperation across party lines, having previously chaired the Republican Governance Group.¹ The Republican is seeking another term against Democrat Maria Jukic in Ohio's 14th District.³
