Biography
Elizabeth Lee has helped patients navigate fertility treatment as a nurse and gone through the experience herself.1 She and her husband, Sean, became parents through adoption and IVF, a family history she discusses publicly alongside the professional work that brought her into reproductive health advocacy.1
Lee grew up in Ohio and has described the financial strain and long search for a diagnosis that accompanied her own chronic illness.1 She became a registered nurse, specialized in reproductive health and infertility, and obtained credentials in patient advocacy, combining clinical work with helping people understand their treatment and financial options.1
Her career has included fertility clinic operations, staff training and lobbying for federal protections for IVF.1 In 2024, she founded the Empowered Choice Coalition for patient education and informed medical decisions, and she has served in reproductive rights organizing and professional reproductive medicine organizations.1
Lee is the Democratic candidate against former Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb in the Fifth District, bringing a health care focused campaign to a seat that has generally favored Republicans.2 She says Congress needs a patient advocate, emphasizing access to fertility care, medical decision making and the cost and complexity of obtaining treatment.12
