Hillary Herzig

In 2022, Hillary Herzig traveled around the country with her family before returning to New Jersey, where she had grown up.¹ A mother of three and the spouse of an Army veteran, she says they returned to raise their children near the beaches, neighborhoods and schools of her own childhood.¹

Herzig earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice at Florida Atlantic University and worked as executive assistant to the police chief in Key West, Florida.¹ Her subsequent Army work was civilian service in intelligence and security operations, including a security position at the National Ground Intelligence Center.¹ While living in Germany as an Army spouse, she taught military families' children through the Department of Defense Education Activity.¹

Her federal career has also included veterans' services, agriculture and immigration, with responsibilities in financial management and public administration.² She is also an artist, business owner and veteran caregiver.¹ She has also pursued graduate coursework in political science.²

Her 2026 campaign emphasizes housing, energy and healthcare costs for working families.² She proposes portable health coverage, more price transparency and protections for people with preexisting conditions.² On immigration, she supports secure borders, faster legal processing, due process and consistent detention oversight.² She faces Democratic incumbent Frank Pallone in New Jersey's 6th District.²
