Jennifer Moore

Moore grew up in Brooklyn and has worked in the borough's Republican politics.

Biography

Jennifer Moore grew up in Brooklyn and has worked in the city's Republican politics.1 Her campaign is centered on the cost of staying in New York and whether families, older residents and small businesses feel safe in their neighborhoods.1 She describes herself as a voice for residents who feel overlooked by the city's political extremes.1

She is the 10th District's Republican candidate.2 She advanced after the Republican and Conservative primaries were canceled, rather than through a contested primary election.3 She also holds the Conservative Party line on November 3, so voters using either of those two ballot lines will be selecting the same congressional candidate.3 The district brings together Lower Manhattan and western Brooklyn, including Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope, Carroll Gardens and Sunset Park.1

Public safety is a central part of Moore's platform: she supports the NYPD and other first responders and opposes policies she considers too lenient on crime.1 She also emphasizes fiscal responsibility and making the city more affordable for working households and local business owners.1

Her opponent is former city Comptroller Brad Lander, who defeated incumbent Dan Goldman in the Democratic primary.4 Following that result, Moore said she wanted to attract support from voters across party lines who disagree with Lander's ideology.4
