Maura Keller

Maura Keller was born in Massachusetts but has lived in Georgia for more than thirty years, raising four children in Fayetteville.¹² She is married and has two grandchildren.¹ Her first career began when she enlisted as an Army military policewoman after high school.¹

She earned her commission in 1982 and retired as a lieutenant colonel in 2004 after 26 years of service.² She then spent about a decade contracting on Defense Department projects before returning to school for nuclear medicine.² Her contracting work included projects for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, the Army Reserve and the Defense Language Institute.²

Keller graduated in 2017 and worked as a nuclear medicine technologist at the Atlanta VA, helping assess how patients' organs were functioning.² She left the VA in January 2024 to make her first congressional run.² Her current campaign connects that experience with proposals to improve veterans care and rural healthcare access.¹

She supports raising the minimum wage, better paid jobs and stronger support for farmers, including equipment repair rights.¹ She also advocates restoring enhanced Affordable Care Act insurance assistance and reversing Medicaid reductions.³ She faces Republican incumbent Brian Jack in a rematch of their 2024 election.³
