Biography
Max Ganorkar left a business career to stay at home with his first child and went on to homeschool his three children.1 He comes from a farming family in India and now lives in Pittsboro.12
His professional experience includes joint ventures between American and Indian companies, as well as designing homes.1 He holds an MBA in international finance and marketing and currently manages residential construction projects through his own business, GRCC.3 He says his international business experience informs his interest in helping manufacturers and small companies compete in global markets.3
Ganorkar says he founded a Tea Party group in New Jersey in 2009 and led it until moving to North Carolina.1 He has described his political outlook as opposition to socialism, high business taxes and extensive regulation.1 His 2024 book, *In Defense of My Faith*, discusses his Hindu faith and experience running for Congress.4 He previously ran unsuccessfully in Republican House primaries in the 2nd District in 2022 and the 4th District in 2024.2
He proposes health insurance vouchers delivered through tax filing, allowing eligible recipients to choose coverage, with catastrophic insurance as a minimum.3 He also favors eliminating tariffs and making home and auto insurance prices reflect risk without unfair discrimination.3 His energy proposals include additional domestic oil production, refineries and nuclear plants.3 He faces Democratic incumbent Valerie Foushee.5
