After a church mission, Kennedy earned a bachelor's degree at Brigham Young University and a medical degree at Michigan State.1 He became a family doctor and later attended law school at night after completing his medical residency, earning a law degree as he sought to understand the rules affecting his patients and practice.2

Kennedy practiced family medicine in Utah County for more than two decades, volunteered care for uninsured families and helped operate a small business.2 His political career included ten years in Utah's Legislature, serving in both chambers, before he entered Congress in January 2025.21 He sponsored the License to Drill Act, signed in October 2026, extending federal drilling permit fees used to fund application reviews.3

He currently represents the Third District but is running in the redrawn Fourth against Democrat Jonny Larsen.4 Kennedy emphasizes spending restraint, border security and domestic energy, and supports permitting changes and local decisions on data centers, while defending President Donald Trump's approach to the Iran war.24
