Peter Crosby

Crosby and his wife, Amanda, are raising three daughters in Cache Valley.

Biography

Peter Crosby became a father and began his professional career in the same summer, 2008.1 He and his wife Amanda are raising three daughters in Northern Utah.1 Their family has used WIC, Medicaid and homebuyer programs, experiences he includes in his account of balancing work, education and household bills.1

Both his parents served in the military, while an injury ended his own time as an ROTC cadet.1 A first generation college graduate, Crosby earned political science degrees at Utah State: a bachelor's in 2011 and a master's in 2013.1 His early job answering customer service calls led to supervisory and operations management work.1

He later worked in corporate analytics and higher education institutional research, including analyst and assistant director positions.1 He taught undergraduate American Institutions courses for seven years and now teaches a graduate course on emerging and disruptive technology at Utah State's Center for Anticipatory Intelligence.1 Alongside that adjunct role, he works in private sector project management and consulting.1

Crosby supports expanding Medicare, more affordable housing and restored assistance for rural communities and buyers purchasing their first homes.2 He also favors restricting officials' stock trading and federal resources to help restore the Great Salt Lake.2 He faces Republican Congressman Blake Moore in November's election for Utah's redrawn Second District.3
