Rachel Wallace

Wallace moved home after her mother's Parkinson's diagnosis.

Biography

Rachel Wallace moved home to be closer to her family as her mother needed more support.1 The daughter of a pastor and a nurse, she grew up in Pottsville and graduated from its public high school.1 She lives in southern Schuylkill County with her husband and dogs, and is a social member of her local fire company and gun club.1

Her career started in Congressman Tim Holden's office and took her to the State Department, Senate and White House.1 At State, she worked as a speechwriter and communications adviser in the Office of Global Women's Issues from 2014 to 2017.2 Her later work included advising Senator Brian Schatz and serving on Joe Biden's 2020 presidential campaign.2

In Biden's White House, she became a special assistant to the president and chief of staff for presidential personnel before moving to the Office of Management and Budget.2 She served as that office's chief of staff from October 2021 to May 2023, then worked as an independent consultant.2

The Democratic nominee faces Republican incumbent Dan Meuser on November 3.3 Her platform calls for banning insurance prior authorization, limiting premium dollars used for executive salaries and investing in trade schools.4 She also proposes prohibiting congressional stock trading and limiting congressional service to twelve years.5
