Riley Owen

Riley Owen grew up in Southern California, with family roots in Utah and Denmark. While studying at Princeton, he left to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in Denmark.¹ His time outside work includes biking along the Jordan River and skiing at Brighton and Alta.¹

Owen graduated from Princeton with high honors after leading its rugby team, and later earned a public policy master's at Oxford. He also became a Navy Reserve intelligence officer.¹ His government work during Donald Trump's first administration included White House policy analysis on manufacturing, trade and pandemic production of medical supplies.¹

In business, he worked on American shipbuilding and a defense technology startup supporting Ukraine. He also established Sentala, a conservation organization using drone technology.¹ He is now seeking his first elected office, campaigning as a younger voice with experience across government and industry.²

Owen supports expanding tax incentives for businesses offering paid maternity leave and restricting social media use for children under sixteen.² Housing affordability and saving the Great Salt Lake are also priorities.¹ He faces former Democratic congressman Ben McAdams, alongside Libertarian and unaffiliated candidates, in the redrawn First District.²
