Teresa Fox

Fox comes from a Bremerton family known for auto repair and racing.

Biography

Teresa Fox comes from a Bremerton family whose name has been attached to repair shops and racing cars for generations. Her grandfather opened Fox Auto Electric, her father ran Tom Fox Automotive, and her uncles became familiar figures in Kitsap County racing.1

Her own work has centered on industrial safety and emergency management. Her career includes seven years overseeing safety at Bremerton's Naval Inactive Ships Maintenance Office and work aboard an Alaska fish processing vessel with more than 200 crew members. She has also held roles with Olympic College, Washington's Department of Labor and Industries and the Kitsap County Fire Marshal's Office.1

Fox wants federal shipyard investment directed toward workers, tools and dry docks, with less administrative spending. She also proposes federal incentives to help local police departments recruit and retain officers, particularly in rural areas where response times can be long.2

Her platform calls for lower taxes, fewer regulations, congressional term limits and expanded telehealth and incentives for doctors to practice in rural communities. She supports gun rights and opposes transgender girls and women competing in female sports categories.23 The Republican is challenging Democratic incumbent Emily Randall, whose background includes nonprofit health care work and service in Washington's Senate.4
