Obama birth certificate comments

During his 2010 House campaign, Mann called on President Barack Obama to produce documents proving his U.S. citizenship.8 Obama had already published a Hawaii birth certificate in 2008.9 The Hutchinson News withdrew its endorsement over Mann's comments.10

A campaign spokesman said in 2010 that Mann had misspoken; asked about the episode in 2018, Mann said he had made mistakes in that race and had moved on.8 A later explanation was not verified in this review.
