Tyler Bass

Tyler Bass recalls buying his first car, a 1982 El Camino, from his grandfather for a dollar.¹ He grew up working on cars with his father and grandfather in Blooming Prairie, where he also played football and wrestled.¹ He later played football at Luther College in Iowa.²

Bass graduated from Luther in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in exercise science.¹ After struggling to find work, he became a night auditor and front desk attendant at a Rochester hotel.¹ He says a $250 paycheck helped him buy equipment and begin a business offering personal training in clients' homes.¹

That business became At Home Fitness, which expanded from Bass's own training sessions to a team offering personal training and massage services.³ He has also worked in life and health insurance sales.¹ He now runs Cities Exteriors, a roofing and restoration business whose work includes storm damage inspections and assistance with insurance claims.⁴

His public funding proposal would require two years of profitable tax returns or two years of documented operations financed without public money before programs serving people with special needs receive funding.⁵ He supports banning congressional stock trading.⁶ His website describes a ten year pause on all immigration as an ideal, while also outlining a possible legal employment matching system.¹
