Biography

Victoria Broderick grew up across the South, including Atlanta and Dallas, before settling in Tennessee's Lincoln County.1 She describes her father as an immigrant and her grandmother as a World War II refugee, a family history she says shaped her concern for people left behind.1

A mother of two boys, Broderick says she and her husband have faced the same grocery, gas and car payment arithmetic as other working families.1 Her professional background is in logistics and technology.2 She has served as a county Democratic Party chair and previously ran for Congress in 2024 while working full time.1

Broderick's platform proposes voluntary preschool for every child, support for rural hospitals and a clearer path to homeownership.3 Her party profile also identifies paid family leave, an expanded child tax credit, lower prescription drug costs and protecting Social Security among her priorities.2 She also lists a higher minimum wage, universal health care and term limits among the changes she supports in Washington.2

She calls for ending federal marijuana penalties, protecting personal privacy as technology changes and stronger oversight of defense spending.3 She also proposes corporate tax changes and greater accountability for artificial intelligence and data centers affecting local communities.3 Broderick faces Republican Scott DesJarlais and two independents.4
